 The Missionary Next Door

According to Village Missions the United States is rapidly becoming...

THE MOST IGNORED MISSION FIELD
IN THE WORLD!
From small cities in the northeast to small farm towns scattered across the central plains to isolated fishing & logging communities out west...to South King County. The mission field is here.
North America is the only continent where Christianity is not growing.
Yet these seemingly forgotten communities are often only minutes away from local Christian schools where students are thriving academically, spiritually, and socially. We can reach them without crossing an ocean and usually without learning another language. Rainier Christian Schools’ teachers’ and staff are dedicated missionaries here in America! However, we need your help.

Hundreds of years of mission service focused on foreign fields has produced a great harvest of souls but sadly, a declining church in our own backyards...
FOR EVERY CHURCH THAT IS OPENED IN NORTH AMERICA

NEARLY 3 CHURCHES CLOSE EACH YEAR

In 1900...27 churches for every 10,000 people
In 1990...12 churches for every 10,000 people

CURRENTLY THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 50,000 SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY OF SOUTH KING COUNTY. CURRENTLY RAINIER CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS ONLY SERVES 850 OF THOSE 50,000 CHILDREN BUT WE COULD SERVE MORE IF WE HAD MORE TEACHERS AND BUILDINGS. THE CHURCH IS SHRINKING AND SO ARE CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS.

Rainier Christian Schools is hoping to fill this void. A small donation of $25-$50 a month could help support our teachers’ and staff’s salaries. Our “RCS Missionary Salary Fund” is designed to supply the necessary staffing it takes to serve a local community.

EVERY COMMUNITY NEEDS A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL THAT SUPPORTS THE LOCAL CHURCH
People need a place to grow spiritually and be taught God’s Word on a daily basis...especially when they don't attend church regularly. Rainier Christian Schools is a place they can find spiritual help they can trust. Most Christian families send their children to public school for 35 hours a week while only attending church for 2-3 hours maximum. We need to balance the scales of education. God intended children to be taught His word on a daily basis.
“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God the Lord is one! And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your strength and with all your might. And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. An you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates”
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
CARRYING ON THE TRADITION OF MISSIONS
Eric Liddell used sports, George Mueller, Amy Carmichael and Hudson Taylor used orphanages and schools to spread the gospel by teaching children, which spread to families, which affected communities, which transformed the world! The tradition of spreading the gospel has a new mission field and that is Rainier Christian Schools and the new missionaries are our teachers.
YOU CAN HELP NOW
(1)    We truly covet your prayers. Where the Lord guides he provides!
(2)    Your monthly recurring financial support will give us stability for our payroll which includes more than a 100 missionary staffers.
(3)    Please encourage others to join our mission by sharing our vision and directing them to our website www.rainierchristianschools.org under Giving & Events.

Now after this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them two and two ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come. And He was saying to them, the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your ways; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry no purse, no bag, no shoes…” -Luke 10:1-4

Jesus began the tradition of sending out missionaries in Luke 10 when he sent his disciples out to local villages without any food or money in the purses. They relied on the support of those who shared the vision for the ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus himself ministered within a 30 mile radius of His birthplace and death site. Ironically Rainier Christian Schools missionaries service about 30 square mile radius.

The staff of RCS has identified themselves as modern missionaries by fulfilling the Great Commision in the South King County communities. The purpose of Rainier Christian Schools is “leading people to a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.” Our schools offer a place for Christian students to grow spiritually through a Christ centered community, discipleship from our faculty, biblical training in the classrooms, and worship in our chapels. Rainier Christian Schools also offer a place to plant, sow, and reap a harvest. The mission field is in our classrooms. Like any missionary we rely on the support from those who attend our schools, local churches, businesses and YOU!

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all that I commanded you”   -Matthew 28:19-20

You have been sent this letter because you have been identified by one of our staff members as somebody who shares the purpose, vision, and mission of Rainier Christian Schools. We rely on your partnership to financially support our mission. Please consider joining our monthly support team. Prayerfully consider even $25 a month, which will go towards our newly created “RCS Missionary Salary Fund.” This fund is created to provide monthly stability for paying our teachers and staff.

Please visit our website at www.Rainierchristianschools.org and review our options for giving and supporting our mission or fill out the attached form and mail it back to us. We have two primary methods of supporting our ministry. First we humbly accept one time donations of any size and secondly, we are encouraging families to partner with our mission by making a recurring monthly donation of $25 / $50 / $100 / $200 or more, which assists our great teachers and staff.
